fiesta ware for the fiesta!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET PEARL
We had Pearl's 3rd Birthday party tonight and what a fiesta it was!!!
We had a Dora the Explorer pinata, we played pin the tail on the donkey ,we ate cake & ice cream
and to top off the fiesta Georgia came and presented Pearl with her fiesta ware tea set.
Pearl absolutley loves it, she has been playing with it all night. Check out Georgia's blog for a not so fuzzy picture of the tea set.
Also, my parents and sister came for the weekend to see Mattie. It has been such a good visit and I can't believe that they already have to go home in the morning. Here is a picture of me with my twin sister!! Oh yes, and that's my crazy mom in the background.
And Mattie is doing GREAT!!!! She is such a wonderful baby!!! We had about 40 people over for Pearl's party and about half of them were kids and Mattie was sound asleep the whole time.
Here is a picture I took this week of the girls.
I love them both soooo much!!!!!!!!!!
As far as knitting goes, I have been working on my black poncho and I started a pink one for Pearl but I am constantly being haunted by the fact that I still need to send my secret pal a package.
AHHHH I know what I want to send her, it's just that I haven't done anything about it yet.
Anyone else in the same boat?
I'll try and finish Pearl's poncho by the end of the week but the one I am making for myself is taking FOREVER!!! I hope I love the end result.

Not too much going on in the knitting world except for a poncho that I am making. It just seemed too boring to post a picture of a plain black stockenette poncho, so I'll post a picture when I have completed it.
Instead, here's a cute picture of Pearl's toes and our neighbors marble collection that she is constantly pulling out when ever we go to her house.
I finally wrote to my Secret Pal!!! I can't wait to send her a package in the mail now that I know so much more about her.(favorite colors, yarns, candies, etc.)
I still haven't heard from my Secret Pal?????
Are you out there???
In case you were wondering, no baby yet!!! She must be holding out for something exciting, I am just trying to be patient.(how I love heartburn.AHHHHHH!!!!!!)

blow out the candles-make a wish
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Yesterday was Joel's Birthday!!! Pearl and I made him a Birthday cake and had a small party for him.
Pearl thinks everyone should have strawberries on their Birthday cake and how can you argue with that ? Of course the party was more fun for her then Joel because she got to blow out all the candles.
Also I finished Hallow from the book Rowan Babies.
I used Jaeger Baby Merino yarn as a substitute for all the stripes they call for in the pattern.
I love the sweater (even though the camera distorted the colors a little bit) and It knit up so fast!!!
This is a perfect "quick" knit baby gift if you need to make one in a short amount of time.

Maybe soon enough I'll post pictures of my baby modeling it for you.

I actually completed a project in 3 days
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to show you what I made this week-it's amazing that I finished this in 3 days.
(keep in mind that this picture was taken early in the morning with little sleep)
The scarf looks great and I couldn't have done it without Georgia!!
The scarf/shawl she made was my inspiration for making this and she helped correct the 99 invisible cast on stitches that I totally messed up on.

The pattern is from one of Georgia's books but I used Trekking sock yarn on a #10 needle so that it would be bigger then what the pattern called for and I omitted the eyecord strings on the corners.
I might save it for a Christmas gift, but for now I am too attached to it to give it away.
Only 2 weeks until my due date!!! Kerrie and I are wondering who will have their baby first??
(our due dates are only 2 days apart, what's your guess?)

baby showers and sweaters
I just have to brag and show you what my mother-n-law made for the baby!!
She wanted to know what I wanted her to knit for the baby and I told her all about these blankets that were on the Mason Dixon Knitting blog.
Isn't this great?? I love it soooo much
(sorry for the blurry picture)
Also, I have been knitting like crazy this weekend!!!
I went to my LYS and bought the book ROWAN BABIES
I think there are only a couple things in the book that I don't like, everything else is gorgeous.
This is what I decided to knit first

I have enough yarn to make one for Pearl and the baby.
This pattern is fairly easy but I have to learn to crochet so that I can make the bottom half of the sweater(which you can't see at all in this picture-oops)
I just have to finish the sleeves and then start the crocheting
WISH ME LUCK

90 degrees in the windy city
I was looking through my pictures from vacation and thought I would post this one of Pearl
and I.
I made this scarf to keep the hair out of my face and Pearl liked it so much she wanted one for herself.
I think it looks pretty cute, and to find a picture of yourself that you like when you're 9 months pregnant is pretty amazing.
Pearl knows how to keep me laughing and feeling good -today when we were walking home from
the park Pearl said, "Mom, I think you are very handsome".
She is amazing!!!! I hope she stays this cute when her little sister arrives-ha ha
I also finished the sweater and you can see the colors more clearly in this photo
I love the end result- I just need to buy some buttons to finish it off.
It probably won't fit the baby in the right season but it sure is cute.

remember the one armed sweater?
Do you remember the sweater I was making but ran out of yarn before I could finish it?
In case you don't here it is. NO-I didn't finish it yet, but I started another one.

I am using the same pattern but using some scraps of yarn that I have in my stash and I designed a whole new look. So far I must admit that I love it!!!!!!
I only have the sleeves to finish, but I thought I would give you a sneak peek
(also this will inspire me to finish it).
Can you tell that these are hearts??? the yarn is sorta crazy and varrigated but
I wanted to add some color hope I didn't space them too close.

I AM SO GLAD TO BE BACK!!!!
I HAD A WONDERFUL TIME BUT THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!!
First of all let me start by showing you the one thing that I did have time to knit while I was gone.

This is a pattern for a pointed ribbed hat that I thought was so funny!! When I started making it I didn't know who I would end up giving it to, but it ended up looking pretty cute on Pearl even though it is too big for her.
I was gone for over 3 1/2 weeks on a "vacation".but while I was gone, the bluegrass band that I am in "Men and Angels" played at Cornerstone Festival.(check out the website for more details).
It was a rainy and muddy day but we ended up having an awesome turn out.
(Yes, the cute pregnant woman with the rubber boots is me!! ha ha)
Well, I just wanted to give you a little update to let you know that I am back.
Send all your best wishes my way- My baby is due in 4 weeks!!!!!
and since Kerrie was brave enough to post a sideview picture of her belly (good luck Kerrie!!!)
Here is one of mine.-YES MOM I KNOW I SHOULD STAND UP STRAIGHT AND STOP SLOUCHING!!

Last day of work, and I am off on vacation!!!
My last day of work was Friday and now I am going on vacation for a couple of weeks.
I might try and post while I am out of town but that is highly doubtful.
Joel ended up loving the Father's Day card that I made for him, and Pearl and I decided to take him out for lunch, and then we made him his FAVORITE sugar cookies.
Do you think we made enough for him?
As far as my knitting goes-
I plan on completing the scrap along sock and the Debbie Bliss wrap around baby sweater that I started and decided to rip out!!!! I wanted to make it smaller since all of her pattern run sooo large.
Don't forget about me my blog friends, and check back to see if I have updated my blog!!!
We'll see how it goes!!!!
