I decided to decoupage some little boxes of matches.
I think they look really cute and both sides are different.

this is my last week to get ready for the craft fair and I am running out of time.

Finally the softie that I made for the swap is in the mail.

My crooked little owl was sent to Donielle today.
In the process of making the owl, my sewing machine broke and I wanted
to throw the whole thing in the garbage, but I decided just to finish
it and send it on it's way. Now I think she looks kinda cute in
this picture.
This was my very first softie/original pattern and you can tell when you look closely-that I am indeed a beginner at sewing.
I am going to start a summer Alphabet Along over at Littlebear.
Over the summer I want to make a craft, bake a recipe, read a
book , or just take a photo for every letter in the alphabet.
Anyone interested?
I think this could be really fun ( you don't have to have kids to do this either)
Let me know and I will add you to the alphabet Along list and hopefully you can share your photos with us.
Until then, I am going to brainstorm some "A" ideas
maybe I was really inspired by a wise old owl.

another doll quilt in the works
Here is just a little glimpse of a project I am beginning to really love!!
Also, I have my softie ready to send in the mail tomorrow-sorry so late Donielle.
(I decided to stick with my orginal idea-I'll probably show you a picture of that, as soon as I know she gets it).
Garage sales were o.k.-It was lousy weather-I did get a great bench for my garden but it's parked in front of my r.v.
Joel is home!!!
as they say in Raising Arizona
"We've got ourselves a family unit."

garage sales here I come!!!
Tomorrow the girls, Joel's mom, and I are heading to the country for a
long weekend away. I think we deserve a little trip.
(I've been without a husband, they've been without their dad).
Joel's mom and I are planning on hitting as many garage sales as
possible over the weekend, maybe I'll have some success
stories/pictures to share with you when I get back.
Here is a little quilt that I just got yesterday- it was free and I love it!!!
I love the colors and patterns-one square is the exact fabric of my parents bedroom curtains when I was a little girl.
How great is that?
I hope you all have a great weekend.

Joel is out of town and as
Meg would say, I am mom solo.
He will be gone for about 2 weeks-were about 5 days into it, Pearl is sad and is sleeping in our bed.
I haven't had too much time to sew, but I did finish up one more bag.
I will show you that bag soon-I think it it my favorite so far.
This week I am planning on working out some more ideas for
littlebear.
I feel like it has been on the back burner and It could use some fresh ideas.
I was hoping more people would be interested in sharing their ideas,
but it isn't quite working out that way-oh well, I still enjoy it.

I joined the softie swap and this is what I got in the mail yesterday
along with a few cookies and candies that the girls gobbled up almost
instantly.
meet Boo Bye.
Donielle I love it, thank you so much.
I am still working on your softie but yesterday my sewing machine
broke-just when I was almost finished.-Sorry, I think it will be worth
the wait.

I ran across
this pattern awhile back and wanted to make one, forgot all about it, and then discovered it again while reading
Carrieoke's blog.
I love wearing headbands!!! this pattern is so easy and so fast to knit.
I will be making a million of these to give to my friends for Christmas.
(i did change the pattern to make it a little smaller, so it would fit more snug).

Sewing a few shopping/market bags to sell this summer.

my shop too!!-the more I sell, the less I have to haul to the festival)
and here is a cute shot of Mattie that makes me laugh.

I was so excited to find these at the thrift store yesterday.
I was having a cheap moment and almost didn't buy them-glad I changed my mind.
I better get going it's almost 11:00 and my girls are still in their pajamas.
I LOVE SATURDAY MORNINGS!!!!

I finished the bag for Joel's mom for Mother's day.
This fabric is from an old corduroy Lands End jacket I had.
(I think she will like the colors in this one a lot more)
Here is a shot of the inside-lined with linen
(you know I didn't buy that either, it was from a linen dress I found)
I love using fabric I have lying around.
If I have luck with these in my etsy shop, maybe I could afford to make
some out of Liberty fabric or a little something from Supperbuzzy.
